It has become apparent that the Mayor’s ability to influence and control city council is a thing of the past.
On controversial issues it seems that only Council members Dave Hart and Stacey Graus align with the Mayor.
Council Members Bill Rachford, Scott Fleckinger, Lloyd Rogers and Barbara Weber are usually on the other side of the issue.
Bill Rachford is running for the Mayors office in this falls election and Scott Fleckinger has a make sense, down to earth approach.
Lloyd Rogers’ adversarial approach and self promoting style has seemed to be somewhat mellower in his first term on council than it has been in the past. If he could just keep his mind on city business and stop injecting county, state and national politics into council meetings he could be more effective.
Barbara Weber seems to have blossomed during this term in office and she is becoming a truly effective legislator.
